Overview

Understanding hormonal health in women

Hormonal imbalances affect millions of women in the UK — yet many are left with inadequate treatment, dismissed symptoms or generic advice that fails to address the root cause. At Metovia, Dr Qurbain takes a thorough, evidence-based approach to hormonal health, reviewing your full picture: symptoms, history, medications, and blood results together.

Whether you are experiencing menopausal symptoms, unexplained fatigue, weight gain, thyroid dysfunction or the complex hormonal picture of PCOS, treatment is guided by your individual profile — not a one-size-fits-all questionnaire.

Conditions treated

What we treat

🌞 Menopause & Perimenopause

The average woman spends over a third of her life post-menopause. Symptoms — hot flushes, brain fog, poor sleep, mood changes, low libido — are treatable. Dr Qurbain assesses symptoms and bloods to create a personalised HRT and lifestyle plan aligned with NICE NG23.

⛀ HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy)

Prescribing the right HRT requires understanding oestrogen, progesterone, and for some women, testosterone. Dr Qurbain reviews your risk profile, preferences and prior history to prescribe the safest, most effective regimen — including body-identical hormones.

🔴 Thyroid Disorders

Hypothyroidism and subclinical thyroid dysfunction are frequently under-managed. Dr Qurbain reviews TSH, free T3 and free T4 in clinical context, not just against a lab range. Treatment optimisation includes levothyroxine dosing, symptom review and monitoring.

👤 PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

PCOS affects up to 1 in 10 women and has metabolic, hormonal and reproductive implications. Management includes assessment of insulin resistance, androgen excess, cycle irregularity and treatment options including lifestyle, metformin, or oral contraceptives where appropriate.
